Echocloud is so much fun for music fans, especially if your tastes run to the more obscure. So this isn't a new idea (c.f. Ringo, Firefly, Amazon, etc), but it is really complete. Basically it is a database of correlations between bands based on what people share over P2P networks. If you plug in your favorite band that "no one has heard of", you may be surprised at the brilliant list of other bands that it comes up with. Note that you can then immediately click on any of the band names in the list - sending yourself on a never ending quest. Also, you can click on the arrows at the top of the "popularity" or "correlation" columns to see other ways of organizing the results.
The only downfalls: a few duplicate entries here and there (with subtle misspellings), no spell checking, and the fact that anything else about the band is subject to the what you can find on Amazon, Insound and Google.
Now if the Apple Music store had this interface, and all the music by all of the bands, I would never come up for air...
